- Almost 75% of Rotarians are over 50
In 2018 65% of the American workforce was under 50
Need to attract younger members - So just ask!
But before we ask, we need to ask ourselves is the Goshen Club attractive to prospective members?
What is value and benefit to join Rotary??
prestigious service organization committed to service- internationally
good for their careers because of the networking opportunity
leadership development
fellowship
Good programs
It needs to be fun being a Rotarian
Opportunity to serve the community
3. Reasons clubs fail to grow:
- Few service projects
- Lack of social events
- Poor and/or cancelled meetings
- Little member participation in district events
- Difficulty in finding club leaders
- Few younger members
- Little or no fundraising
- Fewer new ideas
- Club meetings less exciting and not vibrant
- We talk a good game but are we really committed
- Although members think everyone is responsible for membership they wait forothers to do the work
- Membership is not a top club priority
- Club doesn't have a plan / goals
4. Minimum standards for a vibrant club:
- Meet regularly with good attendance
- Conduct effective service projects
5. Need to create a vibrant club to provide "Service Above Self' and people will want to be part of it
- Why do we have only 20-25 of 44 members present?
- How to add activities + service project?
- Weekly meetings too time consuming - and expensive?
- Is our meeting attractive to prospects?
- All members should join a committee:
2. Potential new members:
- Former members
- Youth Exchange students
- Foundation alumni
- Former Interacters
- Friends / Family / colleagues / customers
- Community leaders
- Speakers
6. Tue 4/23 membership committee meeting at 7pm at Ken's house:

- Goals
- What do you want your club to be
