Rotaractor, Hannah Ameen, needs our fellow Rotarian help on Saturday, March 24!

Good evening Rotary District 7210 Club Presidents!

Below you will find out information about Rotaractor, Hannah Ameen and her request for participants in a FREE to register 5K Run and Walk on the campus of Dominican College on Saturday, March 24 at 9AM.

She is looking for donations  at the door or from clubs themselves (The Rotary Club of Pearl River is giving $500) to support a “Train the Trainer” Program to bring awareness to suicide prevention techniques.

Hannah is an active Rotaractor who has gone on service trips to El Salvador to work at a children’s summer camp for 10 days in January as well as working with Habitat for Humanity in North Carolina and Florida during her Spring Breaks as well as organizing and attending Midnight Runs to NYC to feed and clothe the homeless in Manhattan.

She has given her college career to “service above self”  and this 5K is another example.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and participation is even better!

“My name is Hannah Ameen and I am a senior at Dominican College. I am majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Professional Selling. I am working with Rockland County's Department of Mental Health and Rockland County Executive Ed Day as part of my senior project. I have already produced a suicide awareness public service announcement that aired on cable television. Now, I am raising money for Rockland County's "Train-The-Trainer" program by hosting a 5K walk on Dominican College's campus on March 24, 2018. Through this program, a trainer is sent to area schools to bring awareness to suicide prevention techniques. My time at Dominican has been filled with many opportunities. Being a Rotaractor has helped encourage me to give back to those who need it the most.”

On a separate note, if there are any Rotaract Clubs that would be interested in getting together with our Rotaract Club at Dominican College, we would be very interested in meeting!
