This year is the 16th year of the Fish dinner in Carmel. This event is totally focused on generating funds for our youth leadership program and our local high school scholarship fund. What is so great about the event is the participation of our members. There is a role for everyone. They sell dinner and raffle tickets; provide contributions to the baskets of cheers; are host and hostesses, waiters and waitresses; bus tables, mop, clean up; and deliver the baskets of cheer to winners not present. The food preparation and cooking are done by the restaurant staff to insure all health codes are met.

We hold it at the restaurant where we have our weekly meetings â€" George's Place at 36 Gleneida Avenue. We market the event with signage in front of the restaurant, posters in all businesses in the community, press releases, and visits to our neighboring Rotary clubs. The event is held usually on a Friday evening during the season of Lent. As part of our pricing structure, we provide a Senior Citizen special for early purchases. The dinner consists of salad, fried filet of fish or baked fish, french fries or vegetables, coleslaw, dessert and a beverage. To add to the evenings festivities, we conduct raffles for baskets of cheers. We have raised thousands of dollars from the event over the years. If you are interested in trying one in your community, please do not hesitate to contact us. Or better yet, come and observe this year's event on Friday, April 15th, and enjoy a delicious fun filled evening!!!!!
