An introduction From Our Newest Exchange Student

My name is Anna Niskanen and I'm a Rotary Youth Exchange Student from Finland. I'm 17 years old and I live in Helsinki with my family: my mother who is an interior designer, my father who works as a photographer for a newspaper magazine and my 15-year-old brother. I go to Helsinki Sibelius Upper Secondary School of Music. I'm going to be spending my exchange year in Carmel, NY and I'm a senior class student in Carmel High School. I've always been interested in other languages and cultures and Rotary Youth Exchange Program offers me a great opportunity to learn about those things. Luckily I can also keep on working with my music and art which have always been a big part of my life. So far my experience here in Carmel has been great and I'm looking forward to everything that is still ahead. I'm sure the year will not only improve my language skills and knowledge of American culture, but also bring me together with some awesome new people.
