Maureen Adamson, the 6th President of Sir Sandford Fleming College, has 25 years of progressive leadership experience in the postsecondary, healthcare, government and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a diploma in Business Administration from Fleming College, and holds an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business and a BAA from Lakehead University.

Maureen was most recently the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport for the government of Ontario and was also appointed Deputy Minister of the Status of Women. Maureen served as President and CEO for the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences and as CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. She also held the position of Vice-President, Corporate Services at Mohawk College.

Her volunteer work has included the Board of Directors of Research Canada, the Toronto Transit Commission, and the Scarborough and Rouge Valley Hospital.

Rotary International Curling Event
This special Tri-Club meeting is part of the Rotary World Curling Championships. The dinner/meeting is being held at the Personal Touch Banquet Hall, 1135 Lansdowne Street West, Suite 200, Peterborough, Ontario.
 
The evening starts with a 6:00 pm social hour listening to the music of Peterborough's own Rob Phillips. Meet the curlers and their partners from across Canada, USA, Scotland and England. This is followed with a buffet dinner. The guest speaker for the Rotary meeting is renowned Past Rotary International Director Bryn Styles.
 
The cost for all of this is $50 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Partners are, of course, invited.
 
The main entrance to the banquet hall is down two flights of stairs.  There is a separate ground-level entrance for those with mobility limitations.  Those persons should contact Ken Seim so he can provide the details and know how many will be using this entrance. 
 
Tickets may be purchased at our club meetings. Ticket purchase at the entrance the night of the event will NOT be available.  
 
All Rotarians are encouraged to take advantage of this special opportunity to meet the visitors to our community as well as fellow Rotarians from the Kawartha and BEL Rotary Clubs.

Artistic Director 4th Line Theatre

Kim Blackwell is 4th Line Theatre’s Managing Artistic Director and is a veteran 4th Line director/producer – 2024 marks her 30th season with 4th Line Theatre where she has directed 28 productions including 15 world premieres. She's directed plays across Canada and the US. Kim was inducted into Peterborough’s Pathway of Fame in September 2016. In 2020 she received Toronto theatre critic Lynn Slotkin’s Jon Kaplan Mensch Award.

Kevin Donovan is the Toronto Star’s Chief Investigative Reporter. His focus is on journalism that exposes wrongdoing and effects change. Over more than three decades, he has reported on the activities of charities, government, police, and business, among other institutions. Donovan also reported from the battlefields in the Gulf War and the war in Afghanistan following 9/11. He has won three National Newspaper Awards, two Governor General’s Michener Awards, the Canadian Journalism Foundation award and three Canadian Association of Journalists Awards. As the Star’s editor of investigations for many years, Donovan led many award-winning projects for the paper. He is the author of several books, including “Secret Life: The Jian Ghomeshi Investigation” and the “Dead Times” (a fiction novel).
