Our speaker this week was Allen O’Dette (pictured), President of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, who was brought up in Peterborough, went to school here, and graduated from Trent University. Among his topics he stressed that any new local industry that we try to attract must be of the small or medium sized variety, rather than a large, major industry which was the focus in past years. Of interest to our Club, Mr. O'Dette emphasized that we must attempt to attract the next generation of entrepreneurs, not only on the main street, but in clubs such as our own.
