May 2 an evening meeting with Kawartha & BEL Rotary Clubs

On Monday May 2 our club hosted the Kawartha & BEL Rotary clubs in a shared evening meeting at the Peterborough Golf & Country Club. Rotarians, their partners & Youth Exchange students, Lauro Rezende form Brazil (Peterborough) & Carol Fernandez from Argentina (Kawartha) enjoyed an evening of Rotary fellowship including a lovely buffet dinner. President Moe chaired the meeting, Joe McCulloch assisted PDG Tom Bennett in the role of Sgt at as they both had to stand on their toes to scan the audience. Among the many Happy Bucks Peter Eatson presented a cheque for $500 on behalf of the Rotary Wheels committee for the sale of the van Eleanor Humphries had donated. Our guest speaker Diedre Dionne an  RBC Olympic Ambassador gave a fascinating talk on her experiences as a member of The National Aerial Ski Team from 1999 to 2009. Funds raised from fines & a 50/50 draw were donated to Rotary’s Japanese Relief Fund.
