The Rotary Club of Maple Grove Uganda sewing center project is making great strides to fill a 40’ container to be shipped to one of the largest refugee centers in Uganda.  Your assistance is still needed to provide much needed supplies to help the refugees make a living and become financially independent by providing jobs and trade skills.  We are looking for other items besides sewing machines, material and notions for this project.

The items for the container has also expanded to include:
Irons & ironing boards
Crutches
Bedding including sheets and blankets (flannel is okay)
Draperies & Curtains
Towels - will also be needed for making diapers (soakers)
Gardening tools-shovels, hand spades, rakes, kneelers, hoes,
Carpentry tools - hand tools & electric tools (we are getting a 'step down' machine for electrical conversion),hammers, pliers, screw drivers, wrenches ets
Children's clothing and shoes
Children's books and toys
Adult shoes
Bikes

Additional equipment and supplies will be accepted until September 17, 2017 as the 40’ container will leave Minnesota for Uganda in early October.  In December, several people from Minnesota will be traveling to Uganda to teach people how to sew and knit.
