President Pat thanks speaker Rob Johnson

It is widely recognized that the victims of domestic violence need help. There are a number of agencies that provide services for the victims. It is not widely recognized, however, that the perpetrators of domestic violence also need help. There are a number of agencies that provide a service known as Partner Abuse Intervention. The purpose of this service is to promote perpetrator accountability and victim safety. The primary goal is to eliminate male violence against women. Participants are educated about the causes and forms of domestic violence and are taught skills for handling conflict without becoming abusive. In my talk, I discuss the background, curriculum, and outcome of Partner Abuse Intervention.
