The St. Charles Breakfast Rotary Club is partnering with the Rotary Club of Usula, Honduras to submit a Rotary Global Grant application to construct water improvements for the village of Armenta, Honduras. It is a village of about 2,500 people, located in the foothills of mountains northwest of San Pedro Sula. The current, primary need is for water distribution enhancement. The village has a water supply shortage resulting in homes typically receiving water only one day a week. Our goal is to partner with other Rotary clubs to raise $20,000 and be able to receive matching dollars from the districts and RI that would bring us to $70,000.  This would allow us to make a significant difference in the amount of water the community can receive.  they would go from receiving water once a week to receiving water on a daily basis.  So far, we have partnered with the Evanston Lighthouse Club, Wilmette Club, St. Charles Lunch Club and Wheaton Club to raise $11,500 towards the goal.
