Celebrating Excellence at the Foundation Evening
On April 16th, the Rotary Club of Parry Sound held its esteemed Foundation Evening, a special event dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the exceptional contributions of community leaders with the Paul Harris Fellow Awards. Among the honorees were Ken Hadall, Joyce Hopkins, Sharon Ranney, and Susan Whitley. The event was made even more delightful by a delicious dinner prepared and served by the talented Culinary Department of Parry Sound High School, showcasing the skills of our local students and their dedication to the community.
Spotlight on Ken Hadall: A Legacy of Generosity
It was my pleasure to introduce Ken Hadall, a nominee for the Paul Harris Fellow, and to share insights into his remarkable contributions to our community. Not a permanent resident but a consistent benefactor since 2007, Ken's involvement has been pivotal, especially during events like the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic. His efforts have significantly benefited the Charles W. Stockey Centre & Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, enhancing our local initiatives with his extensive network and resources, including unique sports memorabilia and celebrity engagements.
A Champion for Community and Charity
Ken's philanthropy extends beyond public events; his quiet, behind-the-scenes work has significantly impacted the Rotary Club of Parry Sound and the broader community. His donations, particularly of sports memorabilia, have enriched our fundraising capabilities, allowing us to continue our community service efforts. Moreover, Ken's personal commitment to mental health and addiction support has fostered essential programs at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, further demonstrating his profound impact on local well-being.
A Heartfelt Tribute to a Community Hero
As we concluded the evening, I was honored to present Ken Hadall with the Paul Harris Fellow, the highest distinction our club can bestow. This award is a testament to his unwavering support and the indelible mark he has left on our community. Ken's ethos of "How can I help?" resonates through every aspect of his engagement, making him not just a supporter, but a pillar of the Parry Sound community. His legacy is one of selfless dedication and profound generosity, inspiring us all to strive for greater community service and connection.
