Club Service Committee

The Role and Responsibilities of Club Service is to see that Club Meetings run on a regular basis throughout the year, are fun and interactive.  All members should be engaged participants providing service above self in fund raising and community involvement.

 

Weekly Meetings: are run by Pods which involve the entire Club members throughout 10 months of the year.  Each member welcomes, introduces, arranges and thanks guest speakers on a weekly rotation basis.  Projects, news, achievements, updates on projects being planned are regularly addressed.  Club Assemblies are held once a month, Chairs of committee reports on the business arising from their committee are reported at that time.  Ongoing fund raising progress is promoted and needs addressed.  New member Classifications are done on a regular basis, soon after induction.

 

Social Events Planner:  Club Service plans and organizes ongoing fellowship events.  The Presidents Night, Christmas Party, New Member Inductions, Invites District heads to these events. Orders appropriate plaques, pins and certificates.  Prepares a Budget for the event and any payout.  In the summer month of July and August organizes and promotes a successful weekly summer barbeque at members homes, works with the hosts to help in any way.  Collects all money and organizes food choices by calling and forwarding attendees to the host that week.  Gets directions out to everyone and reminders of any featured speakers, or new quests that may attend the evening.  Forwards attendance reports to the Secretary at the end of the evening.

Organizes and Decorates the Rotary Christmas Float in the Santa Claus Parade:  Community Involvement with walkers, singers, handing out candies, sending greetings from Rotary.

The Fund Raising Christmas Hamper Project:   Rotary is the LEAD in partnership with other organizations to provide a Christmas Turkey Dinner for 100 families that the Salvation Army identifies.

 

Upcoming Fireside for new members:  Should be done once a year.  Usually held at a members home, informally,  to answer and educate new members on roles of committees and immediately get them involved in committees that appeal to their different interests.  Open discussion to learn more about Rotary and the training that is available to new and seasoned members.
