Sailing by the IslandWhat a beautiful sight - the sailing class going by the fishing platform on Rotary Island with our new benches! We've added another picnic table and a few more benches to the Island! ![]() |
More Island Cleanup and an approved Bonfire! We had a great group of Rotarians, spouses and friends show up to continue clean up on the Island and do a controlled burn to get rid of a plethora of twigs and branches. The Island will soon become host to some community events, and we wanted to make it look the best we could - and have some fun in the meanwhile. Burning on the island must notify the City, Police and Fire Department, it is not authorized without the knowledge of those agencies. Productive and fun - kind of a description of Rotary in a nutshell! ![]() |

Rotary out and about with community donationsRotary Club of Alpena raises funds through annual activities and then donates those funds back to the community. One of our regular activities is to donate a book signed by a weekly presenter to local users like the library and childcare centers. This further supports the international goal of literacy promoted by Rotary. We are pleased to have made such a donation just recently. ![]() ![]() |
