Join the Rotary Club of Norfolk and the Sunrise Club help prep gifts at the Salvation Army's Christmas Depot.

Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 9:00am - 1:00pm at the former Sears building (near the food court) at Military Circle Mall (880 N Military Circle Drive, Norfolk).

We will be helping to sort the Angel Tree bags, as it the final push before distribution week. These bags provide Christmas gifts to about 7,000 children in the Hampton Roads area. On each bag will be an Angel tag with the child’s name, age, gender, and Christmas wish. Volunteers will check in, quality check, and place gifts at the designated space on the depot floor according to the tag system. This will ensure a smooth and organized set up for distribution beginning 12/12 where clients will pick up their bags via drive through.

You are welcome to bring family members and prospective Rotarians! Our date (12/10) is the Family Volunteer Day so children are welcome, however volunteers under 16 years of age require family supervision.

The Salvation Army partners with 13 NewsNow, Joy Fund, MyTVZ, and the United States Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots to provide Christmas assistance to families in need in South Hampton Roads. Families with children ages 0-12 may apply to receive Christmas Assistance, which is provided at a single distribution site between December 12th and December 16th.

The Christmas Depot is a large collection center where donated gifts are taken in from the community.  This year’s Salvation Army Christmas depot is at Military Circle Mall, in the former Sears, near the Food Court (880 N Military Circle Drive, Norfolk)
