Steve got up again and introduced Sarah and Stacey.  Ontario Students Against Drunk Driving is a group that Steve supports because he sees the results of drunk driving in his practice.  Rotary gave the group money last year and said Sarah and Stacey were here to give the Club an update on their activities.

Stacey is the teacher advisor to the group and is proud to say that this group is the most active in the County and among the busiest in the Province.  It has grown from 9 members a few years ago to 50 this year.  Kids are joining earlier in their school career and the group's activities and collegiality are an effective way to get the point across.
When MADD brought a multimedia presentation to the area last year the MSS OSADD raised the most money in support of it.  In recognition of that they're going to Oakville, to a conference, next year.  They won't be looking for money but they might be looking for drivers.
Sarah talked a little about the group's activities - they won first prize for their float in the Midland Christmas Parade, they brought the hypnotist Marc Savard to town for his last performance.  He hypnotises people and creates the emotions of an accident and it brings home to kids the real cost of drunk driving.
Sarah thanked Rotary and the Rastin law firm for their support.

Ron Wassink commended Sarah and Stacey and the group for their efforts.  A drunk driver going the wrong way on the 400 killed the fiance of one of the Mirror's employees recently and the publisher has talked to the Minister about making such an offense a manslaughter charge.  He felt the two had a vital message to convey and wished them continued success.
