The generosity of the community, the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Legacy C.H.E.S.T. Fund, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Sassy Strollers, the L.C.V.I. Gold Star Program, Rotary District 7010, and the Rotary Club of Lindsay has made the revitalization of Elgin Park possible.
We are happy to have a community project with transitional zones for people of all ages and sections of high and low energy. Zero water depth surfaces reassure parents of safety. On a hot day, water play is just the ticket.
Physical activity promotes positive mental health, builds strong bones and muscles, and reduces the likelihood of developing obesity and risk factors that can lead to chronic diseases. This project fits well with one of Rotary’s six areas of focus “Maternal and Child Health”.

Rotary raised about $116,424 toward the project which included a $25,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The City of Kawartha Lakes chipped in with $259.000 for infrastructure and site preparation and will guarantee ongoing maintenance.
