At the Park Ridge Rotary Club's first official "Happy Hour" held at 5:30 Thursday, October 24 at the Cornerstone in Hillsdale, members welcomed guest speaker Bob Stickel of LifeSavers, Inc., a company that provides emergency medical response products and training to businesses, the public sector, and other organizations nationwide. Established in 1992, LifeSavers works closely with its customers to design, implement and continually assess safety and emergency response programs.

Bob is the President of LifeSavers, Inc. (http://www.lifesaversinc.com) and has more than 18 years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and 20 years of experience as an American Heart Association instructor and trainer.

LifeSavers Inc. is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiac arrest and the amount of lives that can be saved if AED’s are available in schools, parks, businesses and eventually in people’s homes along with more people going through training for CPR.  Bob explained that the response time from when a person goes into cardiac arrest to when they receive CPR and AED shock determines the overall outcome of the patient and the level of damage that is done. He said every minute that goes by before CPR is started, the person's chances go down 10% for a full recovery.
