Turning Cities Green with Gardens

On Thursday evening, October 14, Jennifer Papa, founder and Executive Director of City Green, Inc. was the club's guest speaker at Daniel Restaurant. Since its advent in 2004 this 501(c)3 non-profit has been committed to addressing the lack of open and green space in the city of Paterson and improving access to fresh produce for city residents. Through its youth programs, City Green currently serves nearly 1000 city youth between the ages of 6 and 17, spreading awareness, education, and appreciation of the environment through club activities in the schools. The community gardens that result help to provide fresh food each summer, establish green space in urban areas and enable greater community collaboration.
