Make Ups:
Stuart Gold earned make-ups at RLI and 5K Race meetings; Bernie Cohen, Pat DiRosa, and Jan Doornbosch attended two meetings of the 5K Race Committee; Pat and Jan also attended the August Board Meeting.

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Jan and Annelien Doornbosch celebrated their anniversary on August 27.Sunshine:
Memorial Visitation for Richard Kilmartin will be held 11 AM-2 PM with Funeral Service at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 7 at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to Tri-Boro Family Care, Inc., 55 Park Avenue, Park Ridge, NJ 07656.
Cindy Rose reported that Ralph Padovano is currently at the shore and, according to his son, Scott, doing well.
Cindy also reported that Helen Paul will be undergoing back surgery on Monday. All wish her well and hope that she will enjoy a speedy recovery.
Bob Balentine is resting at home recovering from a fall and is currently under the care of a visiting nurse. All hope to have Bob back with us very soon.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are currently contending with adversity of one type or another.

Many happy dollars were given in response to Cindy Rose’s return.
Many members offered dollars in memory of Herb Jacobsen and Richard Kilmartin.
Irma Chazotte was happy to be going to Italy later this month.
Cindy Rose was VERY happy to be back with us after several weeks.
Jan Doornbosch was happy to have been to Holland for his anniversary.
Stuart Gold was happy for the work of the 5K Run Committee and all it has accomplished thus far.
Speaker Alan Krutchkoff was happy to be with us once again and to meet up with Bob Puglis, father of Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon’s second adoptee.
Irma’s guest Bob Puglis was happy to be at today’s meeting and for the work of the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.
President Bob was happy to welcome Park Ridge resident Mike Zielinski to the meeting today and for the club’s upcoming Thursday night event at Thunder Mountain in Ringwood.

On Friday, September 6, the Park Ridge Rotary Club was happy to welcome back Mr. Alan Krutchkoff, founder and CEO of Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Inc. Since first visiting with us three years ago, the organization has grown significantly, sending care packages to deployed military units wherever and whenever the need may arise.
Started in 2003, this special group of volunteers has worked tirelessly to improve the morale of soldiers in service to our country by regularly supplying them with DVDs, books, food, snacks, personal care items, sports equipment and much more. All this is done with great efficiency as over 95 cents of every dollar raised is used to support our military men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us safe and secure.
On October 10, AaSP will be holding its biggest fund-raiser to date – A Salute to American Heroes – a gala being held in Belleville with all proceeds going to Operation Compact Care for the benefit of wounded veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
