Program

On October 6, 2017 at Bellissimo Ristorante in Montvale, members of the Park Ridge Rotary gathered to hear a presentation from District Governor Jim Boyer.

Jim’s talk revolved around the magnitude of our Rotary’s impact around the world, the many opportunities for us to make a difference and new directions for Rotary.

Currently there is a new emphasis on data collection for Rotary International. These efforts are revealing over 37 million Rotary volunteer hours around the world.  There are over 65,000 projects in the Rotary Showcase online.  There are many new committees (including Rotary Means Businesses, championed in our District by Vlad Zherenovsky), and groups like Alliances for Smiles, Gift of Life, immunization missions, sports and fitness activities, Rotary Foundation and so much more. With so many opportunities to make a difference locally and around the world, DG Boyer urged us to take advantage of the resources available to us.  He suggested we visit other Rotary clubs for ideas, travel and fellowship and encourage new members and volunteers.

DG Boyer ended his presentation with a special Paul Harris presentation to George Sherman.
