Program

Friday, November 21 was a very special day for the Park Ridge Rotary Club as members welcomed PDG Emil Geering to The Courtyard for the induction Dan Antokal of Park Ridge and Lester Kempner of River Vale. Dan, an avid runner who first connected with the club at our 5K race, is a Financial Advisor for Ameriprize Financial Services in Saddle Brook. Lester currently devotes most of his free time to his Caps for Kids 501c3 non-profit which provides autographed baseball caps to youngsters undergoing treatment for cancer.

In his talk prior to their official induction, PDG Emil noted that Dan and Lester were being invited into the club by virtue of their being leaders, both in their professions and in their communities, and urged them to carry the spirit of Rotary into their vocations and beyond. Rotary will offer them countless opportunities to not only serve, but to enjoy the fellowship of like-minded people committed to making the world a better place.

The breadth and greatness of Rotary can best be appreciated by becoming involved in activities beyond the local level, he added. Attend District events, visit other clubs, participate in District and International Conferences if possible. If you do, you will reap the rewards of being an integral part of the family of Rotary.

With that, membership packets and new-member pins were presented as other club members enthusiastically welcomed Lester and Dan into the club.
