Bob Balentine earned a make-up by attending the District Staff Meeting and Linda Hanlon earned a make-up by going to a meeting of the Walter D. Head Committee. Nancy Swales was happy for her grand-daughter’s new job teaching at NYU.

Irma Chazotte was happy to be headed to Florida for a vacation with her grandchildren.

Bernie Cohen was happy for the volunteer dentistry work Rob Guller had done in Latin America. Bernie was also happy to be on his way to visit his sister-in-law at her new job as a docent in the Library of Congress.

Ryan Cangialosi was happy to be on his way to Florida soon.

Bob Balentine was happy to be having lunch with our two newest members – Brittany and Ryan.

Ann Kilmartin was happy to be back with us.

Rob Guller was happy to see Linda at the meeting today and for the beefsteak dinner last week which his daughter greatly enjoyed.

Brittany Vozza was happy to be heading off to Florida soon.

President Joeen was happy for Rob Guller’s work and for the successful beefsteak dinner.

Pat Little was happy to offer several dollars to promote his upcoming appearance in a comedy drama being performed at William Paterson University in April.

·         At the Feb. 19 Board meeting, Michelle Albergo announced that personal issues are forcing her to remove herself from the rotation of chairs. Bob Bustard has agreed to step in as Club President 2013-14. Completing the slate of officers will be Patrick Little – President Elect; Vlad Zherenovsky – Vice President; Philip Wells – Secretary; Pat DiRosa – Treasurer.

·         Irma Chazotte and Lisa Peck are again selling sales passes to Lord and Taylor’s sale which will take place Thursday, April 4 at the Ridgewood store in the Fashion Center. The club keeps all proceeds from the sales of tickets plus gets a percentage of the sales of merchandise. Members who sell at least $50.00 worth of savings passes will be entered into a drawing for a nice gift basket from L&T. WE URGE ALL MEMBERS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SELLING AT LEAST 5 SALES PASSES. This would allow the club to raise at least $1000.00 with a minimum of effort.

·         Registration brochure for this year's District Conference in Mystic, Connecticut is now available. Download the brochure from our website or contact Judy Messineo at bergentravel@optonline.net for more information on the availability of bus transportation or on the conference itself.

·         President Joeen reminded us about our 2013 CASH RAFFLE. This is our biggest fund-raiser of the year and something that we ALL must get behind. Potentially, we can raise $7500.00! Tickets are only $50.00 apiece and only 300 will be sold, so your chances of winning are quite good. The drawing will take place at our June 14 luncheon meeting at The Courtyard. By starting early, we hope to have them all sold by June 1. EACH MEMBER IS ENCOURAGED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PURCHASE AND/OR SALE OF 5 TICKETS.

·         Two District activities were recently published in Governor Bonnie’s March newsletter. (You can download her newsletter from the sidebar on the left of our website.) On Saturday, March 30, The Volunteer Center of Bergen County will be in need of dozens of volunteers to work in homes in Moonachie and Little Ferry, doing tear-outs of walls and floors and removing other items damaged in the flood. Individuals and teams of volunteers will be needed to help with this project.To sign up for the Bergen Muck Out, call Dave at Project 195 at 1-888-410-5122 or email info@project195.org.

·         Help Feed the Volunteers for Muck-Out Day - VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters) has asked Rotary to help out or handle the Lunch for the Muck Out Day Volunteers on March 30. We anticipate about 90 volunteers. Lunch will be served at the Recovery Information Center in Moonachie at the church at 221 Moonachie Avenue. ·         Painting the Little Ferry Firehouse - The District’s paint project date has been set for Saturday, April 6 starting at 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Little Ferry Hose Company located at 124 Marshall Avenue, Little Ferry. Volunteers should contact Lynn Buckingham at lynn.buckingham@rebuildingtogetherbergen.org or (201) 447-8886 to register. Volunteers should wear old clothes. Recruiting 25 volunteers would be very helpful. Rebuilding Together Bergen County will provide lunch for the volunteers
