Members Present:  Michelle Albergo, Bob Balentine, Bob Bustard, Ryan Cangialosi, Bernie Cohen,  Pat DiRosa, Jan Doornbosch, Steve Fox, Stuart Gold, Ann Kilmartin, Helen Paul, Cindy Rose, Brittany Vozza.

Visiting Rotarians and Guests: Guest Speaker Emery Duell (Lions Club International); Honorary Member Nancy Kilmartin; Rosemary Bustard, Michael DePasquale, Joe DiRosa, Annelien Doornbosch, Gene Paul.

Make Ups: None reported.

Birthdays and Anniversaries – No Rotarians admitted to birthdays or anniversaries; however Bob Bustard happily reported that wife Rosemary’s birthday was the next day, and presented flowers to her. All present joined in a reasonably well sung Happy Birthday to her!

Sunshine:  Cindy reported that she had been informed by Ralph Padovano’s nephew that Ralph was routinely going to his office and maintains a positive outlook.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are currently contending with adversity of one type or another.

Happiness:

There were lots of dollars for happiness including, but not limited to: Bob Bustard initiated the happiness with for his wife’s presence and birthday, and for St. Patrick’s Day on Monday. Cindy Rose countered with happiness for St. Joseph’s Day, and its accompanying good food. Joe DiRosa was happy for the coming cruise to Bermuda (a sentiment shared by several).Speaker Emery Duell was happy to be present to talk about the Lions Service Club. Bernie was happy to have Emery as our speaker. Ryan Cangialosi was happy for a recent vacation. Ann Kilmartin was happy to be able to attend, with her daughter, and Steve Fox was happy for the success of his son’s soccer team.

Announcements:

President’s Ball: Bob Bustard encouraged members to attend the President’s Ball at Seasons on April 17.  Cost: $95 each, including the usual great Seasons food, open bar, dancing and the opportunity to recognize our President.  Pat DiRosa will send reservations for the club, and tables are assigned when requests are made so let Pat know of your intent as soon as possible.

Feed the Hungry Project: Michelle reported that Interact and other Pascack Hills student groups will be participating in the “Feed the Hungry” program which Rotary members did earlier this winter.  Volunteers are needed so contact Steve or Michelle if interested in helping.

Lord and Taylor( at Fashion Center on Route 17 north) Fundraising and Shopping Event: Cindy Rose announced that April 3 was the date of the shopping event., and urged members to buy and sell or give away tickets:  cost is $5 per ticket which the club gets, plus a percent of any purchases on April 3 using the discount ticket. All members are urged to do their share on this, and the money will go to charities.  See Cindy for tickets.

Americorps: Bob Bustard commented on the opportunities for public service through Americorps (a form of domestic Peace Corps).  Contact him if your  are aware of anyone with interest.
