GIANTS of Generosity
On Friday, July 27, club members were introduced to the relatively young 501c3 non-profit organization called Giants of Generosity. Our guest speaker for the day, Ms. Jane Albanese, the charity’s founder and Executive Director, described in moving detail how the organization came to be and how it seeks to offer immediate help to local residents affected by catastrophic events in their lives. Their mission: “to respond to the most pressing needs of people in our own communities who are experiencing critical, life-altering situations.”

In pursuit of her goal to help others, Jane and the GoG have provided financial aid, moral support and hope for the future to the families of over 50 local residents since being founded in May, 2007. With the vision of alleviating the initial needs of those in despair, the group goes on to raise funds and partner with other local organizations, businesses and corporations, calling upon their resources and expertise to assist in accomplishing its mission.
In her presentation, Jane cited several examples of some amazing success stories while also reminding us that the need will always be there as random, life altering events and trials can happen to anyone, any time. She encouraged members to visit www.giantsofgenerosity.org to learn more of the group’s projects and needs and invited interested parties to contact her if they would like to become an active participant in the Giants of Generosity.
