Sunshine: Annelien Doornbosch is recovering from hip surgery; Steve Hopper’s father and mother-in-law are both recovering from knee replacement surgery; Ralph Padovano was released from the hospital to a rehab center in Maywood; Ann Kilmartin is recovering from the flu.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are currently contending with adversity of one type or another.

DGE Peter Wells was happy to report that Linda arrived in Florida last night to be with their daughter as she awaits the arrival of her first baby.
 
Steve Fox was happy to have been a part of the Dictionary Project again this year.
 
Ryan C. was happy to have made a meeting at The Courtyard.
 
Jan D. was happy that Annelien’s surgery was a success. Also happy for Paul Harris’s birthday which happens to coincide with his own.
 
Irma C. was happy to be headed for Florida.
 
George S. was happy to have his youngest grand-daughter home after a 4 day hospital stay.
 
June B. was happy to welcome today’s guests and for Irma’s upcoming trip.
 
Bob G. was happy for the terrific Gift of Life dinner.
 
Cindy R. was happy to have met up with Ryan and Phil at Mt. Fuji.
 
Lester K. was happy for the highly successful Caps for Kids Day at PVHS.

The club is sponsoring a presentation, Youth Mental Health 101, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Community Center behind Borough Hall at 53 Park Avenue in Park Ridge.  Park Ridge residency is not required..  The presentation is open to parents, teachers and adults who work with youth in the community.  The goal is to learn more about: risk factors and warning signs for a range of mental health problems; facts and figures behind mental health disorders in the US; what stigma is, the harm it causes and what can be done to reduce it; how and where to find resources to get help. 
 
The Park Ridge school’s “Teacher for a Day” event will take place in April. Dan and June spoke enthusiastically about their experiences and encouraged members to take part. Talk to President Bob if interested.
 
Ryan Cangialosi reported that the Nikki Franco Scholarship Fund Beefsteak is set for Saturday, June 13, 2015 in the evening at the Park Ridge Elks. The cost is not yet set but will be between $65-$75 and will include unlimited beefsteak from Nightingales, French fries, salad, beer/wine/soda, and dessert from the Cakeboss. This is the same date as the Park Ridge Town Picnic. It will take place between the picnic and the fireworks, but will also be in a prime location to view the fireworks.Picnic.
