Lester and Lois K. were happy to have enjoyed a wonderful Seder with their family.
 
Cindy R. was happy to have enjoyed a wonderful Easter dinner.
 
Bob Balentine was happy to have spent last week at the Cape and to find all the snow gone on his return home.
 
Mary Ellen O. was happy to have been with her 11 grand-children for Easter.
 
Pat D. was happily looking forward to having her grand-children coming for a sleep-over.
 
Ray F. was happy to have his grand-dog coming for a visit.
 
Steve F. was happy to have found some time to get to a club meeting.
 
Brittany V. was happy to be in her new home in Park Ridge.
 
Stuart G. was happy for the wonderful planning meeting held at the Wells home for DGE Peter.

The Park Ridge school’s “Teacher for a Day” event will take place in April. Dan and June spoke enthusiastically about their experiences and encouraged members to take part. Talk to President Bob if interested.
 
Ryan Cangialosi reported that the Nikki Franco Scholarship Fund Beefsteak is set for Saturday, June 13, 2015 in the evening at the Park Ridge Elks. The cost is not yet set but will be between $65-$75 and will include unlimited beefsteak from Nightingales, French fries, salad, beer/wine/soda, and dessert from the Cakeboss. This is the same date as the Park Ridge Town Picnic. It will take place between the picnic and the fireworks, but will also be in a prime location to view the fireworks.

Sabrina Osso, founder and president of Floor It, LLC, has both personal and professional experience with home violence. Since 2012 she has committed herself to making it a thing of the past by raising this difficult topic with community groups, business groups, educational institutions and others.
 
Only through education and political action can the scourge of domestic violence be eradicated. To this end Ms. Osso has developed a series seminars and workshops with the aim of informing, educating and empowering employees, clients and students.
 
Believing that home violence must be removed from the charity realm and brought into the mainstream as a demand for a better quality of life, Floor It, LLC has been created as a for profit entity. The erasure of home violence must NOT be in the hands of the victims but instead the responsibility of the institutions of society.
