Make Ups: Stuart reported make-ups at PETS and at the District Membership Seminar. P-E Pat earned a make-up with his attendance at PETS.

Birthdays and Anniversaries – Happy Birthday was sung to Irma with great enthusiasm and almost on key.

A flood of happy dollars were offered when Cindy proudly displayed the engagement ring she had received from Bob B.
Many more dollars were given by those leaving on the District Conference Cruise on Saturday.
Nancy S. was happy to report that her son is doing better.
Stu G. was happy for experiences at PETS and at the District Membership meeting.
Jan D. was happy to be headed off to Holland again.
Pat L. was happy for having participated in PETS last weekend.

President-elect Pat, determined to get his term off to a good start, distributed a brief survey to club members asking them to list areas of service in which they would like to participate, areas of personal interest that might enhance club fellowship, skills or talents that they would be willing to share with the club, suggestions of things that the club should do that we don’t, and ideas as to how those activities might be accomplished. Contact Pat for a copy of the survey if you were not at Friday’s meeting. It will be a great help to him and to the club as a whole if EVERYONE completes and submits a survey.
THERE WILL BE NO MEETING AT DOMANI ON THURSDAY NIGHT, 4/10. THE NEXT CLUB MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT ON FRIDAY 4/11.
Dick Bozzone, Co-Chair of the Park Ridge Memorial Day Parade, has invited the club to take part in this year’s parade on May 26. Please let President Bob know if you will be able to participate.

Club members were pleased to welcome Ms. Laura Hudson, founder and Director of Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary year, H&CGC has its counseling center in Ramsey but services clients throughout Bergen and Rockland Counties.
Among the many service provided by this 501c3 non-profit organization are children’s support groups and parent/adult support groups which meet simultaneously and sometimes in joint session, individual and family counseling, Camp Grief Busters and a Holiday Gathering.
Children’s groups are led by Laura, a Board Certified Art Therapist while teens and adults most often meet with a licensed social worker. Groups are scheduled to run 8 weeks, but often continue well beyond the first series of meetings.
Utilizing a cardboard and paper scroll home drawn “movie” made by one of Laura’s recent groups, members were able to gain a greater appreciation of the value of art therapy to the lives of these children. For them, artistic expression offers a safe way of coping with the grief, anger and anxiety they may be experiencing as a result of some family crisis or loss. Without the services of H&CGC, the emotional scars left by such loss often make everyday life much more difficult, especially for the young.
