On July 21 at Bellissimo Ristorante in Montvale, members of the Park
Ridge Rotary gathered to meet and honor the high school graduates who received scholarship awards from our club.
Linda Hanlon led this portion of the meeting and announced that although the decisions are difficult, it is a pleasure it is to be part of the scholarship award committee. She noted that she was celebrating 30 years in Rotary this month. In addition to the four-way test of things we think, say and do, Linda added that our motto is Service Above Self. She illustrated with mention of our fruit sales the 5K run, raffles and other fund-raisers that enable us to grant scholarship and give back to the community.
Linda welcomed this year’s scholarship winners and invited them to join a Rotary Club someday. She then asked each student to talk about his or her goals and interests.
