Program (Tim Barnes from Black Tooth Brewery in Sheridan):
PE Richard Schwahn introduced our speaker today, Tim Barnes. Tim said that Casper has been a great place to showcase their products and he enjoys coming here from Sheridan. They incorporated in 2009 to start the brewery and they opened in November 2010 on the day after Thanksgiving which was a great day to start. They wanted to start just in Sheridan and now they have beer in three states now and will be adding two more by the end of the year. He wanted to have a business in Sheridan since that was his home and he wanted to stay there and have an iconic business that would be fun to run, thus the brewery. They have a tasting room and always have people wanting them to open a restaurant along with it but they will never do that. They currently have 3300 kegs they own and an additional 1500 they are leasing. They started the first year brewing 960 barrels on their 10 barrel system and in 2014 they produced 2400 on that same 10 barrel system. 2015 they hit 4500 barrels as they increased size and production capabilities during the first half of the year. He showed us pictures of the constructing of the new area for the brewery; they used cranes to bring in the brewers for the expansion. While doing the expansion they did a re-branding and created the new labels and he said that it has been very successful. They realized that nobody was really using the west in their branding and by doing so they have created a lot of awareness for their brand and for the west. They put their product in cans as they are able to get the cans from a local vendor in Worland and the cans are well received by everyone as well as being less expensive. They are on pace to do 8500 barrels to distribute over the five state area and close to 20,000 barrels by the end of 2018. They are attempting to touch every state that touches the state of Wyoming and also Arizona and New Mexico. They now have a 30 barrel brew house which is helping them to increase their production and they have room to expand if needed.  He then opened the floor for questions and there were a lot of great questions asked and answered. They started out with three PT employees and have added more to 16 FT and 7 PT employees. They have 8-10 beers on tap at the tasting room and can have up to 12, always their own beers.

PE Richard Schwahn concluded the meeting at 1:23 with the ring of the bell and reminded us that next week we will be back at the Parkway Plaza.
