David Lautenschlager turned a career in retail management into a mission to serve and connect—first through insurance, then through leadership. As a Farmers Insurance Agency owner and current president of Toastmasters Edmond 170, David brings a mix of strategic thinking and genuine care to everything he does. Oh, and ask him about his dog, Spock.

David Lautenschlager was born and raised in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he graduated with a degree in International Studies.

After college, he entered the management training program with Sears and was eventually promoted to run his own store—bringing him to Oklahoma in 2012. Shortly after arriving, he met his soon-to-be wife and transitioned from Sears to Babies "R" Us. However, as both Sears and Toys "R" Us began to collapse, David left the retail industry behind and joined the claims team at Farmers Insurance.

It was during his time at Farmers that David joined Toastmasters in 2016 to network with people outside his department. After holding multiple leadership roles in the group and earning a promotion within claims, he made the decision to open his own Farmers Agency. He launched the agency in spring 2021, which led him to leave the original Toastmasters group and join Edmond 170, where he currently serves as Club President and has completed two educational pathways.

David is married to Kelli, and together they have three children—Henry (9), Maddux (6), and Marli (4). The family also includes a black lab named Spock, a dachshund named Granger, and a cat named Gouda.
