A group of 6 of Rotarians from District 5400 visited water projects in Ecuador and attended their annual district project fair. PDG Kevin Learned and Todd Fischer would love to share the story of the progress in getting clean water to children around Ecudor and the many opportunities for your club to get involved.  Kevin and Todd are starting with their home club, the Rotary Club of Boise.  If you would like Kevn and Todd to share they World Service Project experiences with your club, please let us know.

There were two main take-aways from the project fair. First, and most important, the Rotarians organizing the projects are incredibly dedicated. I have to remind myself they are volunteers. Having Rotarians that know the details of the project and regularly visit the project site is critical for a project’s success. Second, there were so many projects presented, they began to blend and then the need started to overwhelm. We are in one small country learning about a handful of projects. Our club, and our influence with other Treasure Valley clubs, can not begin to fund the worthy projects presented at the Manta Ecuador project fair. We have to approach projects like we approach world peace – one project at a time – making a difference where we can.
