Changes Made to Make Rotary Membership More Affordable 

Haliburton Rotary has taken steps to reduce the cost of membership by reducing the number of dinner meetings and introducing Corporate and Family Memberships. Follow the link for more details.
We are excited to announce that the Rotary Club of Haliburton has instituted several measures to make Rotary membership more affordable and available to more community minded people. 
 
The cost of membership has decreased, and we have introduced Corporate and Family Membership plans which allows for “Associate Members” to join our organization without having to pay membership dues. 
 
The result of this change will be a significant reduction in the dues for the year.
 
The new yearly dues for “Primary Members” will be as follows:
 
 
  • $284.00/year for Rotary International and District dues (non-optional)
  • Plus 24 meals = $336.00
  • Total yearly cost = $620.00 (payable in one lump sum or semi-annually)
 
We hope this significant reduction in costs will encourage those who were previously interested in joining Haliburton Rotary, but were held back by the costs, to consider joining us now.
 
Corporate and Family Memberships allow for “Primary” Rotary Members to invite family members or co-workers to join Haliburton Rotary without having to pay annual dues.  “Associate Members” pay a one-time initiation fee of $30 and then “pay as you go” for meals. 
 
Here are the details for “Associate Members” who join Haliburton Rotary through the Corporate or Family Membership plan.
 
Spouse/Partner/Family Membership Plan
 
  1. Both members must apply for, be accepted as and maintain ACTIVE membership requirements as defined by Rotary International Policies and Haliburton Rotary Bylaws.
    1. The Spouse/Partner Membership is a specific membership program of the Rotary Club of Haliburton and is a designation solely for the purpose of setting and billing club dues.
    2. It is not applicable to any other Rotary Club, nor does it have any corollary designation within Rotary International or The Rotary Foundation.
    3. Both members are expected to support Haliburton Rotary through active participation, on projects at the club, district and global level.
  2. Spouse/Partner/Family membership dues may be applied for when:
    1. A spouse, partner or family member are both members of the club.
    2. Reside at the same home address.
  3. One member will be considered the “Primary Member” (Member of Record), and other(s) will be considered an “Associate Member”.
  4. Associate members will pay a one-time initiation payment of $30 to cover the cost of badge and pin.
  5. The Primary Member will pay full Club/District/Rotary International dues and the prepaid meal plan. The associate member(s) will not pay full dues but will pay for all meals and special events “as attended”. The associate member can utilize the Primary Members pre-paid meals in the absence of the Primary member at any regular or special meeting.
  6. Spouse/Partner members must each have an individual (non-shared) unique email account.
  7. Associate members will have no voting rights.
  8. Only the Primary Member can hold positions on the Board of Directors.
  9. The Associate member can chair or lead committees of the club.
  10. This membership level may include other family members at the same address.
  11. If a spouse/partner leaves the club during the Rotary year:
    1. Any remaining membership dues for the year will become the sole responsibility of the remaining spouse/partner and must be paid in full within 60 days.
    2. If all accounts are paid in full, dues for the remaining member will automatically reset to the individual membership rate the following rotary year.
 
Corporate Membership Plan
 
  1. All corporate members must apply for, be accepted as and maintain ACTIVE membership requirements as defined by Rotary International Policies and Haliburton Rotary Bylaws.
    1. The Corporate Membership is a specific membership program of the Rotary Club of Haliburton and is a designation solely for the purpose of setting and billing club dues.
    2. It is not applicable to any other Rotary Club, nor does it have any corollary designation within Rotary International or The Rotary Foundation.

  2. One corporate member will be considered the “Primary Member” (Member of Record), and other corporate members will be considered an “Associate Members”.
  3. As many as three (3) employees of the company can join as members of the club
  4. The Primary Member (ideally Company Principal) will pay full Club/District/Rotary International dues and the prepaid meal plan. The associate member(s) will not pay full dues but will pay for all meals and special events “as attended”. One associate member can utilize the Primary Members pre-paid meals in the absence of the Primary member at any regular or special meeting.
  5. Associate members will pay a one-time initiation payment of $30 to cover the cost of badge and pin.
  6. Each Corporate member must each have an individual (non-shared) unique email account.
  7. Associate members will have no voting rights.
  8. Only the Primary Member can hold positions on the Board of Directors.
  9. Associate members can chair or lead committees of the club.
  10. This membership level does not include, and is not applicable to, other employees at the company beyond those approved. The Spousal Membership Plan does not apply to Associate Member’s Partners.
  11. In the case where an associate member becomes a full member during a Rotary year, the additional membership dues for the associate member will be calculated with the difference prorated for the month entering the club.
  12. If a Primary Member leaves the club during the Rotary year:
    1. Any remaining membership dues for the year will become the sole responsibility of the remaining corporate member(s) and must be paid in full within 60 days.
    2. If all accounts are paid in full, dues for the remaining member(s) will automatically reset to the individual membership rate the following rotary year.
