Notes from April 27th Meeting

Happy Bucks - Mark Wigston was still full from eating steak and lobster the night before at the birthday for his mother-in-law.  Pat Bongers had an event at his workplace where they were showcasing some of the techniques used in their construction process.  Terry Pilger was in St Catharines where he was excited to see the end of the snow and yet suddenly he came home to find the snow had returned. 

 

Speaker Notes - The speaker was Doug Wilson who is a CPGA professional (Golf pro) and has been in the golf industry all of his life.   He has also taught in the golf program for Georgian College for over 20 years and truly has a passion for teaching and leadership.   Doug shared some stories that have really impacted him and he did a wonderful job of weaving them into a very interesting speech.   One of the people who had a huge impact on him is a person some of you may know from town - Andy Baston.   Andy had a wonderfully positive impact on Doug and one of the major lessons Andy taught Doug was how to treat people.   Even in his last days Andy still found a way to make those around him feel so important and he was so interested in them.   A truly selfless person - service above self which is the foundation Rotary has been built on.   Overall it really was a great speech that everyone in the audience could relate to and enjoy.   Jim Cruickshank did a great job thanking Doug.
