Muskoka Rotary Golf Tournament on June 9th at Deerhurst Highlands
The Gravenhurst and Bracebridge Rotary Clubs joined forces once again to host their annual Muskoka Rotary Golf Tournament on June 9th at Deerhurst Highlands with a wrap up at Deerhurst Resort following play. This was the second tournament within the fiscal year as we reunited post COVID to host our first one in Sept. 2022. 124 happy golfers attended this tournament, many returning to support our clubs. A few spouses and guests joined us for a scrumptious dinner and prize presentation and auction. There were two hole in one prizes available, sponsorships of over $10,000.00 and an auction that made us nearly $8,000.00 Pam McDivitt chaired the hard working committee of Gravenhurst and Bracebridge Rotarians, meeting weekly the months leading up to the big day. Pam has agreed to chair again this year and the following year, the Bracebridge club will lead the way. There are Bracebridge Rotarians offering to step up to this committee and we are hoping for a few more from Gravenhurst as we are just 3 including Barb McCabe and John Gordon. We start meeting in January. Our net profit is $11,791.00 for each of the 2 clubs. Combine this with the September proceeds and we have over $20,000.00 for each club within one year! It is our goal to retain the spirit and camaraderie that this tournament has been known for for nearly 30 years while making some much needed money for our clubs to assist those in Muskoka.
