Mike Cole presented his summary of the last 13 years and this year's multitude of successes!
Rotarian Mike Cole (RWFL Chair and Field Coordinator) had us all transfixed with his annual presentation on the incredible work he oversees in Cambodia with Rotary Wheels for Learning (RWFL).
Mike’s team this year not only included Rotarians and family from Gravenhurst but Rotarians from four additional clubs. Eleven Rotary clubs contributed towards the total $860,000 raised.
Just look at some of these incredible numbers:
In 13 years, over 12,000 bikes have been assembled and donated for children in Cambodia. These enable children to attend school and further their education!
This year alone the team:
-installed 75 new single family latrines in one province in Cambodia
-drilled and installed three new wells at schools and community centres
-built 2 new school latrines, wash areas and water storage tanks
-built new school playground and roof for wash areas
-distributed 3 tons of food
-provided 14, twenty litre water filters for seven schools
-purchased and delivered 400 pounds of school supplies
-purchased and delivered sports equipment 27 schools
-provided 600 new toothbrushes and toothpaste to 7 schools
Thank you Mike and team!
Mike was presented with a special Citation for Meritorious Service by Margaret Walton (District 7010) of the Rotary Foundation.
