Assemblyman Billy Jones

Billy Jones grew up on a family dairy farm in Chateaugay, New York. Jones attended Chateaugay Central School and Graduated in 1992. Billy ran his family dairy farm in Chateaugay, NY from 1992-1996. He then went on to join the New York State Department of Corrections in 1996 where he continues to work as a Correctional Officer. Jones’ political career began when he was elected Mayor of his hometown, Chateaugay, in March of 2009. His career continued when Jones was elected Franklin County Legislator in November of 2010.

Jones held both offices till August of 2012 when he stepped down as Mayor of Chateaugay and advanced his standing with the Franklin County Legislature in January 2013 by becoming their Chairperson. Mr. Jones is also the Vice Chairman of the Franklin County Democratic Committee. Jones is extremely active throughout Franklin County as well as the entire North Country. Even with all of these positions Jones manages to be an active member of the Chateaugay Rotary, the Malone Elks Lodge and a board member for the United Way of the Adirondack Region.
