Rotary Club of Boise Southwest, Idaho

Boise Southwest Rotary was honored with 7 awards at the recent District 5400 Celebration in Boise.
These awards included:
1. Membership growth—gold award for 5% or greater increase in membership.  Boise Southwest grew from 74 to 79 members, an increase of   7%.
2. Membership retention—gold award for retention of members that was greater than 96%.
3. Club Foundation Giving—gold award for donating to the Rotary International Foundation at a rate greater than $150 per capita. Boise Southwest members gave a total of $17,295 this year.
4. Polio Plus Giving—silver award for per capita giving between$20-36.99 to fight polio.
5. Service Project Recognition—Magnitude of Impact--for the Whittier that provides exciting field trips for students in grades 1-6. Each grade level has an appropriate outing that could include one of the following: swimming lessons, lunch at the Riverside Hotel with Santa, and a trip to Wahooz.
6. Rotary Youth Exchange—for consistent student host support, financial support, District 5400 RYE Committee participation, innovation, and participation in RYE events. Boise Southwest has each year hosted one or more exchange students. In addition, members serve on the district committee and the club provides funding for students and activities.
7. Rotaract Club Award—for clubs that sponsored a new Rotaract Club—This year, Boise Downtown, Boise Sunrise, Boise Centennial, and Boise Southwest sponsored a new Rotaract club in Boise. Activities for this group included a fundraiser at Boise Brewing, help with Boise Southwest’s Dixie Jazz and Crawfish Boil, and support for local charities e.g., Common Good. Rotaract members also enjoy social activities, including grilled cheese and pizza.
