Hello Daybreakers,
We had a full house at this week’s meeting, with guests Tim Gregory and past founding member Barry Moran attending alongside our guest speakers. We heard from the Coordinator of the Clontarf Academy, Luke McInerney, who was ably supported by student’s Tory and Joel.
Luke updated those present on the national Clontarf Program and its present program in Warrnambool. Joel and Tory spoke on how the academy had helped them to move forward academically and in their personal lives. On Sunday March 3rd we have been asked to continue our support of the Clean Up Warrnambool (Australia) program, I am sure, when asked, the Clontarf boys will be more than happy to participate.
Max gave us a geography lesson with his where in the world session, prizes were awarded to the Daybreak brains trust in Janey, Gerard and Ian Harper.
Chris Preston updated us on the Bunnings version of the Chinese whisper when he went through the list of information not passed on, and we all had a bit of a chuckle about what rules we had forgotten

Friday Saturday and Sunday saw more than 12 members, partners and children travel to Portland to assist Serge with his passion for fishing. What happened during this trip will be talked about for some time to come and perhaps the tales told won’t have anything to do about the size of the fish that had gotten away. Perhaps a couple of different pictures will tell another story at next week’s meeting.

On Sunday 2 Daybreak Members, Andrew & Jenny, along with 2 members From RC of Warrnambool, Bunny Hinchcliff & Gerry Russell, volunteered at the Daybreak Care Program. This will be the last week we run the program from the F Project Site. Next week we will be returning to Surfside 2.
At next week’s meeting our guest speaker will be the CEO of Emma House, Ruth Isbel. Many of you would be aware that Emma House provides counselling, support and advocacy to women and children who have experienced or are experiencing domestic and family violence. I look forward to another full house this week to show our ongoing support of this important local advocacy organisation.

District Govenor Anthony’s wife Kerrie has selected Fight MND as her partners project. Kerrie has obtained the permission of the Fight MND organisation to use the logo.
This is the organisation set up by Neil Daniher and all funds raised go to finding a cure for MND

A RAWCS project has been set up for donations to aid people affected by the North Queensland Floods.
The disastrous flooding in North Queensland has left many families in need of assistance for their recovery. The appeal is designed to help those families and individuals whose needs are not covered by government assistance or insurance.
