President's Chat
Jan's Chat 3
Attendance was down at our Wednesday meeting this week, seems like everyone is either sick or on holidays. We hope those on holiday are enjoying their time away, and to the sickies – please get well soon.

Liza spoke to us about her time at Deakin Geelong, and the indigenous art program. She explained the low numbers of indigenous students attending university. We learnt about the Waurn Ponds Art Faculty building and the work that went into the design. It was all very interesting, but unfortunately we ran out of time.

It was Julie Grec’s Birthday in Wednesday and she was lucky enough to be whisked away to the snow with family to celebrate the occasion. So the theme of absence from Rotary meetings on your birthday continues.

It’s Peter Smid’s birthday on the 17th, and guess what – he’s away. Have a great trip, and a very Happy Birthday Peter.

The Rotaractors came to my place this weekend for a bra sort for Project Uplift, they’ve done a wonderful job. We ploughed through many bags of bras, ran out of boxes, and I’m very happy to announce I can now fit my car into my garage again.

Cheryl introduced the “food bus” project to the club and we will be having a brain storming session during next weeks meeting. Come prepared to throw in as many pro’s and con’s as possible, as we need to decide where we will go with this.

I’m looking forward to your valuable input, see you Wednesday.

Cheers, Jan

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

Hi Fred, this is Alan next door. I have a confession to make. I've been riddled with guilt these past few months and have been trying to get up the courage to tell you to your face, but I am at least now telling you in text as I cannot live with myself a moment  longer without you knowing.

The truth is I have been sharing your wife, day and night when you're not around. In fact, probably more than you.

I haven't been getting it at home recently, but that's no excuse, I know. The temptation was just too much.

I can no longer live with the guilt and I hope you will accept my sincerest apologies  and forgive me. It won't happen again. Please suggest a fee for usage, and I'll pay you.

Regards, Alan.

THE RESPONSE

Fred, feeling insulted and betrayed, grabbed his gun, and shot his neighbour dead.  He returned home where he poured himself a stiff drink and sat down on  the sofa.

He took out his phone where he saw he had a second message from his neighbour:

THE SECOND MESSAGE

Hi Fred, This is Alan next door again. Sorry about the typo on my last text. I expect you figured it out anyway, and that you noticed that darned Auto-Correct changed "wi-fi" to "wife" That's technology for you, hey?

Regards, Alan

A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named “Ahmal.” The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him “Juan.” Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, “They’re twins! If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Ahmal.”

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, 'Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see? '

The Lone Ranger replies, 'I see millions of stars.'
What that tell you?' asked Tonto.

The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What's it tell you, Tonto?'

'You dumber than buffalo sh*t. It means someone stole the tent.'

A young man was in love with two women and could not decide which of them to marry. Finally, he went to a marriage counselor. The counselor asked, "Please describe your two loves."

"Well, one is a great poet."

"And the other?"

"The other makes delicious pancakes."

"I see. So, you can't decide whether to marry for batter or for verse."

Gemma ran to her grandmother after school.
“Grandma, Grandma, guess what?” she said. “Today, the teacher taught us how to make babies!”
The grandmother was shocked. “That sounds like a very interesting day at school.”
“Do you know how to make babies?” Gemma asked.
The grandmother didn’t know what to say.
“It’s really easy,” said Gemma. “You just change Y to I and add ES!”
