Attendance was down at our Wednesday meeting this week, seems like everyone is either sick or on holidays. We hope those on holiday are enjoying their time away, and to the sickies – please get well soon. Liza spoke to us about her time at Deakin Geelong, and the indigenous art program. She explained the low numbers of indigenous students attending university. We learnt about the Waurn Ponds Art Faculty building and the work that went into the design. It was all very interesting, but unfortunately we ran out of time. It was Julie Grec’s Birthday in Wednesday and she was lucky enough to be whisked away to the snow with family to celebrate the occasion. So the theme of absence from Rotary meetings on your birthday continues. It’s Peter Smid’s birthday on the 17th, and guess what – he’s away. Have a great trip, and a very Happy Birthday Peter. |  |
The Rotaractors came to my place this weekend for a bra sort for Project Uplift, they’ve done a wonderful job. We ploughed through many bags of bras, ran out of boxes, and I’m very happy to announce I can now fit my car into my garage again. Cheryl introduced the “food bus” project to the club and we will be having a brain storming session during next weeks meeting. Come prepared to throw in as many pro’s and con’s as possible, as we need to decide where we will go with this. I’m looking forward to your valuable input, see you Wednesday. Cheers, Jan | ) |
