Hello all, 26 Members attended this week’s meeting. Due to unforeseeable circumstances our guest speaker was unavailable. Never one to miss an opportunity, I managed to source a video from the Rotary International Convention in Toronto.
At the Rotary International Convention in Toronto, Marie-Paule Attema shared her story of becoming a Rotary Peace Fellow (UQ 2016-18), noting the people who helped her along the way. Attema’s career goal is to support recovery and mental health efforts after armed conflict and, in the long term, to promote peace and equality through global policymaking.

Rotary’s Membership & Club Development month continued with:
- Our joint community service project with the Rotary Club of Warrnambool & the Clontarf Academy. In almost spring like conditions, we planted 75 trees, whipper-snipped and cleaned up the entrance to the future extension of the car park. Afterwards around twelve Rotarians & Partners attended a BBQ at lake Pertobe.
- Liza & the Strategic Planning committee are meeting on Monday to develop our assembly for August 8th.
In recent weeks you may have noticed the welcome slide on the screen. Have you read the statement above the picture? That 24-word paragraph is Rotary’s new vision statement. There is a short explanation on how Rotary arrived at this wording in this month’s DG Newsletter. I have included the link under.
Next Week’s Meeting
At our meeting on August 8th, Liza & the Strategic Planning Committee will be holding an Assembly meeting. The intention being to continue & complete our discussions on the members survey.
