Hello all,
 
This week I had the pleasure or welcoming 20 Daybreakers, Junior Daybreaker Reihan Patel and visiting Rotarians Ian Cairns and Tony Austin to our weekly meeting.
 
Sergeant Chris brought some humor to the meeting, informing all present on how Glenn and Cheryl had conducted a recent safety analysis at Lake Pertobe.  The picture tells it all!
 
 
Our guest speaker was Tony Austin from the Rotary Club of Warrnambool.  Tony updated us on the projects conducted at various locations in PNG.
 
 
This trip proved to be a little more challenging for the assembled team, the first challenge was locating the container with all the equipment.  It eventually turned up, and only 14 days late,  leaving just 10 days to complete the scheduled work.
 
 
 
Martyr’s Memorial School:
 
Fit a SkyHydrant water filter system.
 
Break into the existing water supply system. Install the SkyHydrant filter, set up a filtered water holding tank, pipe the filtered water to an outflow area in the college.
 
Embogo Secondary School:
 
Reinstate the school’s failed water system.
Remove the existing failed water tank & install a new 5000 litre tank.
Fit a solar submersible pump and solar panels.
 
Embessa Village:
 
Replace the hand pump fitted last year with a revised unit. Install a solar powered submersible pump.  Install a 3metre tank stand and 5000 litre poly water tank. Install a poly pipe water line with stand pipes and taps through the new village site.
 
Kongoho Village:
 
Provide and install a tank stand & 5000 litre poly tank.
Install a water level float switch
 
Next Week’s Meeting -
 
  • Our meeting in Wednesday the 12th’ will be held in the restaurant, a chance for fellowship instead of our more regimented meetings.
