Pres Chat 26/10

On Wednesday October 19th The Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak met for our usual breakfast meeting.
 
In the absence of President Sergio, Vice President chaired the meeting, and we welcomed District 9780 District Govenor Kathy Rivett to our breakfast meeting who addressed us.

Our meeting on Wednesday October 26th was chaired by Ian Harper, as President Sergio was still away, as was VP Chris.
 
After opening the meeting and having breakfast and fellowship, Jennie Miller ran the meeting through proposed changes to the membership process that Jennie and Steve had been working on.
 
Some key points:
 
  • It’s proposed that a meeting with the prospective member while the form is being filled out rather than afterwards, so that the expectations are explained before they complete the form, together with new member information sheet and also the privacy form.
  • Approval process to stay the same.
  • Then the induction day is to occur.
  • A welcome folder, add the strategic plan to that as well as the club leadership plan and member contact details.
  • Once induction is complete it is over to the mentor of the newly inducted member.
Suggestions for newly inducted members:
  • Read about Rotary Foundation.
  • Introduce yourself to 2 Rotary members each week.
  • Meet with a mentor
  • Attend new members information sessions
  • Attend a board meeting
  • Attend a district meeting
  • Participate in a service project
  • Present at a club meeting, perhaps about 3 or 4 months into their membership.
  • Take an online course
After that it was on to an activity that Di had prepared where we all tried our hand at arts.
 
 
Sandra then conducted the quiz with Bob starring getting 5 questions.
 
Ian then closed the meeting for the week.
