This week, we welcomed 15 members to the meeting, with apologies received from Jan Read and Jennie Miller. President Peter welcomed our guest speaker, John Clue DGE from the Rotary Club of Port Fairy.
Sergeant Barry invited Cheryl to recite the Invocation with Janey performing the Toast.
DGE John updated on the ‘Rotary 100 years in Australia’ project that will be officially celebrated in April 2021. DGE John, displayed the ‘Rotary 100 Years’ Baton that will be passed between Clubs throughout District 9780 thus enabling valuable promotion of Rotary within our communities.
DGE John also reported that for the first time PETS 1 (President Elect Training) will be conducted online. The sessions will take place on Sunday 22 and 29 November and will run for 1.5 hours respectively.
‘Rotary 100 Years Project’- Glenn will make contact with Council to check if the Club can be involved in some aspect of the scheduled major upgrade for Lake Pertobe that is likely to commence shortly. This may involve the installation of playground equipment / seating / bbq etc. Glenn will report back to the meeting soon. It was decided that this type of project would be more suitable for the Club as a plaque indicating the installation was to celebrate the ‘Rotary 100 Years in Australia’ would be more visible.
RC of Warrnambool Central are seeking donations of soft toys and books (in English) for distribution to students attending the Arado Elementary School on the Island of Leyte in the Philippines. Please consider this worthy project.
It’s Quiz Time – Sandra will conduct a ‘Quick 10 Question Quiz’ at the end of each meeting, with a prize being awarded at the end of the month to the person with the highest score. After Quiz#1 the results are:

With future fund raising in mind the Long Lunch Committee (Sandra / Janey / Sergio / Barry M), will meet soon to commence planning for the event in 2021.

Next Week’s guest speaker is Mark Handby – Community Safety Officer / Environmental Health Officer with Moyne Shire. Mark will also speak on his involvement with Red Cross.
