Hello Daybreakers and welcome to Bulletin No. 17

Daybreak News - Well what a lovely meeting we had this week as we welcomed our District Governor from the Rotary Club of Swan Hill, Roseanne Kava.  Roseanne was joined by Assistant District Governor and District Governor Nominee John Clue from the Rotary Club of Port Fairy.  Roseanne’s talk with the members was informative and inspiring highlighting current statistics and strategies to increase the membership of Rotary.

The Club was pleased to accept from Roseanne a Certificate of Appreciation for its financial support of End Polio Now: Countdown to History Campaign for the year 2018-19.  Daybreak was also pleased to present Roseanne with a cheque for $500 to go toward her nominated charity, The Purple House.  The Board met separately with Roseanne at the conclusion of our weekly meeting to further discuss any issues the Club might be experiencing. Our Guest Speaker next week at the World Polio Day Breakfast will be a representative from the local branch of Polio Network Victoria.

Condolence – Members of Daybreak were saddened to hear of the passing of Carmel Brinkmann, a member of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool East and wife of President Colin Brinkmann.. We pass on our condolences to Colin, his family and the Rotary Club of Warrnambool East.

Wannon Water Ripple Effect Grant – Daybreak has been successful in its application to Wannon Water Ripple Effect, Community Grants Program to assist with the running of the Care Program for a six month period.  We are most grateful for this assistance ($2200) and thank Glenn and Ian for their hard work in applying for the Grant and also for their commitment in facilitating the Care Program. Glenn, Ian and I attended the presentation night to accept the Grant and were pleased to see Ian Watson and Tony Austin also accept a Grant on behalf of The Rotary Club of Warrnambool for the PNG water project.
