Hello Daybreakers,
Interesting that only 1/3rd of our membership has bothered to respond to this year’s club survey. You may think it’s a little ho humm, but it’s in your interest to make your opinion known. Stop whinging, bitching and moaning and put what you really think on paper. This survey is not designed to make any changes to the club, it’s aimed at giving each of you a better experience within your club, so please get off your hands and return the survey asap.
Our guest speaker Kiara, gave us a little insight into the plight of homeless and/or couch surfers in Warrnambool. It may be considered a matter of choice, but family homes are no longer traditional. Often they are not a safe and clean environment. There are so many parents with alcohol and drug problems, mental health issues, not to mention the single parents with various partners coming and going. Kiara has been wise enough to recognise her situation, and strong enough to choose not to live in a dysfunctional household. I found it very interesting to listen to her story, and wish her all the very best in the future.
The club will be a tree planting with the Showgrounds Committee on Saturday the 21st of April, to finish what we started last year. A good time to be planting, as it will give the plants a little time to establish before winter, and come spring they should thrive.
Next week we will hear from Robert Dowell, the Principal at the Special Development School. It should be interesting, as the new building works are due to commence in April.
