Hello Daybreakers,
This week I announced Ian McKay’s Paul Harris Recognition + 7. I would like to once again, congratulate Ian, and thank him for his outstanding and ongoing support of the Rotary Foundation- making life better for people all over the world.
We also watched a video presentation from RI President Ian Riseley on the “Value of doing good”. Data entered into Club Central is essential to measure the hours and effort members put into Rotary Projects and Events. At the end of the year we will be able to see just how much good we have achieved in our community. Rotary International will be able to see the results of the 35,000 clubs worldwide. The real value of doing good not just in money raised, but the hours that dedicated members have spent volunteering. Hopefully at the end of the year we will look at these figures, take particular notice of them, and be even more proud of our clubs achievements.
I also read a letter from the Member for South West Coast, Roma Britnell, congratulating our club for it’s promised contribution to The Lookout Campaign. In her role on the Lookout steering committee, Sue also gave us an impromptu up-date of the campaign. The support from our community has been fantastic, and hopefully Government funding will be made available in the next State Budget.
I wished Gerard a Happy Birthday for last Sunday 14th, Max for next Sunday 21st, and Janine for Monday 15th of January.

As I mentioned, next week our meeting will be in the Mid City Restaurant, so we will have a special assembly. Group topics will be Movie and Markets wash up, the upcoming Long Lunch and Wunta Breakfast, and arrangements for Australia Day in the Gardens.
