Hello Daybreakers,

This week our guest speaker was Dion Johnstone, Melbourne footballer, and Cheryl's grandson.

Dion was interviewed by Matty Stewart, who struggled to get a word in. It would seem Dion may have his grandmother’s gift of the gab. Dion told us of his journey, and some of the highlights of his football career to date. He is very determined and we all hope he can work his way into the senior team in the coming years.

Matty also gave us a brief update on the Standing Tall program which has expanded into Emmanuel College and the Warrnambool Special Development School. This is an excellent program which is helping many secondary school students who may otherwise become disengaged.

Next week on Tuesday night at 6pm we will be attending a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Warrnambool, at The Warrnambool Gun Club at Lake Gillear.

“To get to the venue, travel over the Hopkins Bridge near Lyndoch until you reach a “T” intersection, turn right and follow the signage. Drive past the Motorcycle club on the dirt track until you reach the Gun Club on your left. If you drive into the ocean, then you’ve gone too far!!!!!” (Malcolm Price)

There will be around 10 people attending our Wednesday morning meeting, so we will meet at 7am at Bohemia in Kepler Street. You will purchase our own meal, and we’ll pass around a cup to get some Rotary $.

Our next normal meeting will be at the Mid City on the 17th of January,

It will be a cooked breakfast and the cost will be $20.00

	A few of our Daybreakers enjoyed the races on New Years Eve at the Woodford Cup
	Cheryl caught up with Marg Morton, our Peter John's Award recipient in 2017. Marg is ok again now but has recently been affected by the leukaemia condition she has. This happens on a regular basis. She is still driving, hospital visiting and running the raffles at the RSL when she can.
