Hello Daybreakers,

A big thanks to Janey for sourcing a Richmond themed variation on the traditional Leni Beans for District Governor Ray Herbert this week. As a South Australian, he expected to cop some flack over the AFL Grand Final, he was very quick to say that he’s a Port supporter.

There were quite a few announcements on Wednesday that really make it very clear that the winter lull is well and truly ending.

Glenn called on a group of helpers to plant trees and move some mulch at the Showgrounds this weekend. No trees have been planted at this stage, but we did “Move some much” – just wait ‘till you see the photos. It was a great effort by a group of people who felt their age at knock off time. Also a big thankyou to Cheryl for supplying drinks and snacks to keep us going for a while.

The “Ride to Work” Pancake Breakfast is on the 18th of Oct. on the Civic Green. This will replace our normal meeting, it is a fun morning, and all the important club members will be there !

Sandra announced the Movies in the Park dates, which coincide with the Hillside Market dates.

The Long Lunch date is set for 25th of February, at Brother Fox Catering –Deakin Uni.

Next weeks meeting will be an assembly of sorts.

The topics for discussion will be

1. Development of a Membership Drive Strategy:
market segmentation,
branding
marketing to prospective members,
testimonials from our current members,

=  Production of a DL brochure that we can readily hand out to worthy candidates.

2. Food Bus – where to from here ( without a bus) …….

3. Mid City meeting venue.

4. You tell me, is there another discussion group required to discuss another topic. Let me know before next Wednesday, and I’ll gladly add it to the format.

As a Daybreaker your input is valued and essential, please attend this weeks meeting.

Make a Difference

Cheers,
Jan
