Hello Daybreakers,

Bob has returned from his trip to the old country. Sounded like a very busy visit with family. It was also lovely to hear that he is expecting his first grandchild – well done Bob !

Our guest speaker this week was Debbie Dumesny from SEAL. She filled us in on what SEAL actually does, and she told us of a new program they have instigated for seriously troubled youth. These are kids who have been kicked out, or have left school and really have a bleak future without a program of this kind. They teach them to learn, and give them a sense of value in the community. Debbie is chasing support in the form of mentoring, work experience, employment or funding. I hope that we may be able to help in some way, and would like this to be discussed further.

Mark Andrews returned this week with Eucalypts in hand, this is another hot topic for discussion as a fund raiser.

Glenn is organising a tree planting project at the Showgrounds next Saturday (7th Oct). We will need to also move mulch. So far his helpers are : Chris & Janey, Ian H. and me. There will be a BBQ lunch provided to helpers. On Wednesday Glenn will be able to give us more information.

 “Making a Difference”

Cheers,
Jan
